I had to try some narrowband imaging with some newly acquired 1.25″ HSO filter set, despite not having a monochrome camera. The wizard nebula in Cepheus was the perfect test for the new setup.
Image details: HOO colour palette with 2 hours of Ha (40 x 180 seconds) plus 5.5 hours of Oiii (110 x 180 seconds) for a total of 7.5 hours integration time. Taken with ToupTek ATR585C (cooled to -10c at a gain of 50) and William Optics SpaceCat 51 250mm / f4.9. Tracked with AstroTrac TT320X-AG. Unguided. Sequenced with N.I.N.A.. Stacked in Stacking Wizard with no calibration frames. Edited with Astro Wizard and Photoshop.
In some ways I actually prefer the H-Alpha only image (2 hours integration time). The much stronger signal gives far better detail than the Oiii data.
